Bitcoin reclaimed $87,000 for the first time since January after rebounding from a local low near $75,000 around Sept. 15-16. The recovery followed renewed U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF demand, substantial short liquidations and Strategy's disclosed cash-funded purchase of 950 Bitcoin. Spot Bitcoin funds recorded about $999 million in net inflows on Sept. 21, led by BlackRock's IBIT, ARK 21Shares' ARKB and Fidelity's FBTC, before the funds added $714.7 million on Sept. 22 for a fourth consecutive inflow day. Bitcoin reached roughly $87,300 to $87,400 on major venues before retreating to the mid-$86,000s, about 31% below its October 2025 record of $126,080. The rally followed Senate failure to advance the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act and a Federal Reserve rate increase, events that coincided with ETF redemptions on Sept. 15 and 16.
