India’s BSE Sensex closed about 0.4% higher at 74,828.3 on Thursday, recovering from the previous session’s losses as lower oil prices and hopes for renewed US-Iran talks improved investor sentiment. Metals and heavyweight financial stocks led the advance, while information technology shares remained under pressure because of demand and earnings concerns. Foreign investors sold 38.1 billion rupees ($398.6 million) of Indian equities on Tuesday, extending their selling activity to eight sessions in the past nine trading days. Tata Steel gained 3.8%, while Bajaj Finance rose 3.1% after UBS upgraded the stock and raised its price target, citing an improved earnings outlook.
