Tekever raised $580 million in the first close of a Series D funding round led by UC Investments and Baillie Gifford, valuing the European autonomous systems developer at $6.4 billion. The company said it will use the proceeds for international expansion, increased manufacturing and technology capabilities, acquisitions and faster development of AI-powered autonomous systems. Tekever says its systems have logged more than 50,000 flight hours in Ukraine since 2022. The financing follows Britain’s Ministry of Defence selecting Tekever’s CORVUS surveillance system under a programme worth up to £400 million ($532 million) over the next decade, as European defence-tech startups attract larger funding rounds amid higher military spending.
