Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro LLP urged Alibaba Group Holding Limited investors who incurred substantial losses to contact the firm regarding a proposed securities fraud class action alleging that Alibaba and certain executive officers made misleading statements and omissions about regulatory exposure and AI-related conduct. The suit, Wistisen v. Alibaba Group Holding Limited, et al., was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and covers investors who bought Alibaba securities from June 26, 2025, through June 24, 2026. The complaint alleges that Alibaba was directly or indirectly controlled by, or affiliated with, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and that it conducted ongoing distillation attacks involving third-party AI models. Hagens Berman cited Alibaba’s June 8, 2026 addition to the U.S. Department of Defense list of Chinese military companies under the National Defense Authorization Act and a June 24 Bloomberg report on alleged unauthorized access to Anthropic’s Claude AI models as corrective disclosures. Alibaba ADSs fell 3.9% over two trading sessions following the Defense Department action and declined 4.7% to $95.07 on June 25 after the Bloomberg report, the release said. The allegations have not been adjudicated, and investors seeking lead-plaintiff status must apply by Oct. 5, 2026.
