Moscow Exchange began trading automatically rolling futures on five cryptocurrency indices—Bitcoin, Ether, Solana, XRP and Tron—on September 22. Available only to qualified investors, the one-day contracts roll forward automatically and are cash-settled in Russian rubles, while prices are quoted in U.S. dollars against the exchange’s crypto indices. The contracts do not require delivery or custody of the underlying tokens. Funding parameters are set at K1 of 0% and K2 of 0.35%. Moscow Exchange said more than 72,000 qualified investors had traded its crypto futures since the first products launched the previous year, generating more than 600 billion rubles in cumulative volume. The launch follows Russia’s cryptocurrency framework, which took effect on September 1, and expands the exchange’s crypto-derivatives offering beyond Bitcoin and Ether.
