Paramount Skydance is considering Elon Musk among prospective investors as CEO David Ellison seeks additional equity for the company’s acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, according to industry sources reported by Semafor. Paramount’s shares fell 1.48% on Wednesday and have declined 47.12% over the past 12 months. Reports have valued the transaction at between $108 billion and approximately $111 billion, including debt, with the deal approaching completion. Musk’s potential involvement would build on his ties to Larry Ellison, who invested $1 billion in Musk’s 2022 Twitter acquisition and previously invested in Tesla. Fresh capital could help Paramount manage the transaction’s debt obligations and pursue a plan to release 30 theatrical films annually. The acquisition would also give Paramount control of DC Comics assets, including Batman and Superman; Forbes has valued the Batman franchise at about $30 billion. Paramount has presented a settlement proposal to roughly a dozen states that sued to block the deal, while earlier reporting described the antitrust case as settled. Wall Street analysts maintain a Hold consensus on PSKY, based on four Buy, five Hold and four Sell ratings, with an average price target of $11.06 implying 10.13% potential upside. Paramount and Musk had not publicly commented as of Wednesday evening.
