Better Home & Finance (NASDAQ: BETR) faces a securities class action and an investigation by Hagens Berman over disclosures surrounding its loan-volume outlook and conversion rates. On March 13, 2026, then CEO Vishal Garg said the company remained on track to reach $1 billion in monthly funded loan volume by May and adjusted EBITDA breakeven by the end of the third quarter. CFO Loveen Advani said Better could generate opportunities independently of broader economic and mortgage-market conditions. On May 7, Better reported that its first-quarter net loss had increased 75% sequentially and 39% year over year, while reducing its second-quarter loan-volume outlook to $1.65 billion at the midpoint, or about $550 million per month. CEO Garg acknowledged that conversion rates had declined because of macroeconomic factors. Better Home shares fell more than 28% that day and were down nearly 60% year to date. The class period runs from March 13 through May 7, and the lead plaintiff deadline is Nov. 20, 2026. The company fired its CEO after the class period.
