Ledger Wallet Desktop now lets Zcash holders keep both transparent and shielded ZEC balances in one account, provided the private funds are held in Ironwood, Zcash’s newer privacy pool. The feature replaces the need for a separate third-party application, but private ZEC must be made public before it can be swapped and is unavailable on the original Nano S. Ledger says scanning and transaction construction occur locally, with the unified viewing key stored on the user’s computer and not shared with Ledger. The older Zondax app will be pulled on Nov. 5, requiring users to move their funds before then. ZEC traded at $1,516, down almost 3% over 24 hours but up 23% in seven days and more than 84% in a month, ranking ninth by market value. Zcash exchange-traded funds recorded $98.2 million in inflows during the week to September 18, the largest weekly inflow among 14 crypto products, while ZEC had reached $1,658.86 before retreating below $1,530.
