KB Securities, part of Korea’s largest bank, partnered with Securitize and The Optimism Foundation on Sept. 23, 2026, to develop and distribute tokenized financial products for South Korean institutional investors. The initial rollout will place a tokenized money market fund and an investment vehicle tied to a KB Asset Management strategy on OP Mainnet, giving institutions on-chain versions of investments they already access through traditional markets. The arrangement combines KB Securities’ distribution network, Securitize’s tokenization and compliance infrastructure, and Optimism’s Ethereum Layer-2 settlement technology. The pilot is intended to test demand before a possible expansion into Korean equities, American Depositary Receipts, corporate debt, government bonds and established global tokenized funds as regulation develops. Its longer-term success will depend on repeat purchases and greater secondary-market activity. The source places real-world-asset assets under management near $39 million, with about $26 million held by Securitize, while recent secondary transfers have generally remained at only hundreds of dollars over 30-day periods. Securitize’s broader platform has recorded monthly transfers in the hundreds of millions of dollars, but those flows are concentrated elsewhere.
