Hsin-Ju Chuang, a former partner and head of platform at crypto venture firm Hack VC, died at 37 after being found on southbound Interstate 15 in San Bernardino County, California, on Aug. 24. The San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner confirmed her death, and California Highway Patrol officers responded to a call south of Field Road. Authorities have not released a cause of death or other details. Chuang founded Dystopia Labs and held head of growth roles at Stellar and Solana before joining Hack VC as a venture partner in 2021 and being promoted in 2025. Before her death, she said on X that Hack VC had mistreated her and that she planned to release supporting evidence, though it is unclear whether she did so. Hack VC co-founder and managing partner Alexander Pack said the firm was shocked and saddened, had not spoken directly with Chuang in more than 10 months and did not know the circumstances of her death.
