Europe's car market grew in August as demand for electrified vehicles offset steep declines in petrol and diesel sales, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA). New European Union car registrations rose 5.3% to 832,637 vehicles, while BYD registrations more than doubled year on year to 26,007 across the European Union, the U.K., Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. Chinese automakers expanded their combined market share to 11.3% from 7.1% as domestic rivals faced mounting competitive pressure.
