Quarterhill has secured TOPAS 2505B registration for its TMB-13X multilane intersection radar, meeting a requirement for traffic signal detection technology deployed in the UK. The registration allows the company to offer the product to UK transport authorities, traffic signal controller manufacturers and system integrators. Designed for complex intersections, the above-ground radar monitors vehicles and cyclists across multiple lanes and can replace traditional inductive loop detection, potentially reducing roadwork, installation costs and traffic disruption. Quarterhill said the TMB-13X is now available for order. The company cited the scale of the UK market, including Transport for London’s approximately 6,400 traffic signal sites, 4,000 signalized junctions, 1,500 pedestrian crossings and more than 16,000 traffic detectors. The milestone expands Quarterhill’s existing UK operations and follows more than 30 years of radar-based product development. Quarterhill also said its strongest quarter of profitability in more than three years was reported in August 2026 and that it is progressing toward the expected fourth-quarter 2026 closing of its acquisition of Conduent’s tolling solutions business. The company cautioned that adoption of the TMB-13X, the acquisition’s completion and expected effects, product demand and other factors remain subject to risks and uncertainty.
