Belgium’s business confidence indicator increased by 1.1 point to -12.1 in September 2026 from -13.2 in August, beating expectations for a decline to -13.5. Manufacturing sentiment improved to -12.2 from -17.8, supported by stronger confidence in building materials and flat glass, basic metals, and capital goods. Confidence also edged higher in roofing activities. Pessimism deepened in structural building work, construction installation, building completion and finishing, business-related services and trade.
