Bank of America plans to hire 1,000 additional apprentices over the next two years and invest $150 million in U.S. workforce development programs over five years. The paid apprenticeships will span consumer banking, technology, operations and other areas, typically run for about 12 months, and often lead to industry-recognized credentials. The initiative adds to more than 800 apprentices the bank already hires annually, while roughly four in 10 new employees do not have a four-year degree. The bank also cited commitments to hire 10,000 more people with military backgrounds and 8,000 workers from community colleges over five years. The workforce investment follows nearly $40 million deployed in 2025 through partnerships with more than 100 universities and community colleges and over 600 nonprofit organizations. Bank of America said employees earn at least $50,000 annually and can access coaching, training and hands-on development through The Academy. Separately, the bank expects third-quarter sales and trading revenue to be roughly flat year over year and investment banking fees of $1.6 billion to $1.8 billion. Its shares were up 0.16% at $56.09 at publication, while analysts maintained a Buy consensus with an average price forecast of $66.14.
