Tether, Pave Bank and the Global Financial & Technology Network (GFTN) signed a memorandum of understanding on July 22 to create the Georgia-Singapore Fintech Scholarship Program. Beginning in January 2027, selected STEM undergraduates from Tbilisi State University in Georgia will study at Singapore Management University for one semester. The five-year initiative includes industry exchanges, mentorship and fintech projects intended to strengthen links between Georgian and Southeast Asian fintech ecosystems. Students completing the program may receive internships from partner organizations and access to GFTN's global Knowledge Circle network. The organizations describe it as the first institutional higher-education exchange and privately funded fintech scholarship linking Georgia and Singapore. The agreement does not involve immediate product or token issuance. It builds on Tether's discussions with Georgia over blockchain infrastructure and a potential lari-pegged stablecoin, Pave Bank's Georgian banking license and digital-asset strategy, and GFTN's cross-border fintech work.
