OpenZeppelin has made its audited smart-contract libraries and secure development suite available for the TRON network, extending its security-focused framework to TRON-specific development. The offering includes the @openzeppelin/tron-contracts and @openzeppelin/tron-contracts-upgradeable npm packages, adapted for TRC-20 and TRC-721 standards, along with audited contract components, secure upgrade tools, Contracts Wizard, built-in security checks and AI-assisted development support. The tools support familiar Solidity workflows including Hardhat, Foundry and TronBox while addressing TRON’s TVM and network capabilities. They also cover passkey authentication, supply controls, permissions and governance. Sam Elfarra, Community Spokesperson of the TRON DAO, said the integration lowers friction for developers, while Pepe Blasco, Engineering Manager at OpenZeppelin, said the tools account for production requirements on TRON. As of September 2026, TRON had recorded more than 405 million total user accounts, over 15 billion transactions and more than $29 billion in total value locked, while circulating USDT exceeded $94 billion. OpenZeppelin said its Contracts library has supported $37 trillion in transferred value, alongside more than 900 security engagements that identified over 10,000 vulnerabilities before production.
