CATL opened its largest NING SERVICE battery lifecycle centre outside Asia in Oslo on 24 September 2026. The 8,000-square-metre facility will serve Norway and the wider Nordic region with battery testing, maintenance, repair, insurance, second-life and recycling services for transport, energy storage and robotics. Norway’s electric vehicle market is among the world’s most advanced: battery-electric cars represented 98.7% of new passenger-car registrations in August, while electric buses accounted for more than 60% of bus and coach registrations. CATL said the centre will address rising demand for diagnostics, repairs and battery life extension as the fleet expands and ages. Its deep-repair capability covers 76.8% of electric vehicle models, while repair turnaround for complex cases has been reduced from 72 to 48 hours. The site will also operate as a brand experience centre, sales agent and regional training hub, with courses certified by CATL and practical instruction for local technicians. CATL launched the Global Energy Circularity Commitment with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and said NING SERVICE is intended to keep batteries in use longer and return recovered materials to new batteries. The company operates 1,394 service locations across 85 countries and regions, with targets of 100 countries and regions by 2027 and 10,000 locations by 2030.
