Gnosis Pay will shut down its direct-to-consumer debit card operation and web application on December 20, 2026, at 23:59 UTC, according to a formal notice issued to cardholders on September 21. Cards will no longer process purchases or ATM withdrawals after the deadline, while the web app will remain available in a limited form so users can withdraw their remaining funds. Since 2025, Gnosis Pay has been repositioning itself as a white-label card infrastructure provider for wallets, fintech companies and neobanks. Existing users can migrate through partner applications including MiniPay, which will issue replacement cards using Gnosis Pay's enterprise rails and offer features such as instant withdrawals and transaction reversals. Gnosis Safe accounts will remain accessible because they are self-custodial, meaning users control their own assets, and the shutdown does not impose a withdrawal deadline on those funds. The GNO cashback program will end earlier: eligibility stops on September 30, 2026, and the final distribution is scheduled for October 7. Removing the cashback loop reduces a consumer-focused use case for GNO and shifts the token's role more toward governance and staking, which involves locking crypto to support a network and earn rewards, within the Gnosis ecosystem.
