President Donald Trump hosted Chinese President Xi Jinping at a White House state dinner Thursday after discussions over trade, security, technology and artificial intelligence. The United States and China agreed to extend a trade truce that had been due to expire in November until Jan. 10. Xi said the countries could maintain dialogue on AI and work together to prevent its misuse, Xinhua reported. The guest list featured leaders from major technology, finance, manufacturing and media companies, including Nvidia's Jensen Huang, OpenAI's Sam Altman, Meta Platforms' Mark Zuckerberg, Amazon's Jeff Bezos, SpaceX's Elon Musk, Apple's Tim Cook, Microsoft's Satya Nadella, Alphabet Inc.'s Sundar Pichai, Citigroup Inc.'s Jane Fraser and JPMorgan Chase & Co.'s Jamie Dimon. Chinese business leaders were absent from Xi's delegation, whose 19 members among more than 130 listed attendees included no corporate executives.
