Brightline entered into a Restructuring Support Agreement with key financial stakeholders, while certain parent entities filed for Chapter 11 protection in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey. Brightline Trains Florida LLC, which operates the Miami-to-Orlando service, is not part of the filing and will continue operating. Supporting stakeholders have committed $490 million in new long-term capital for the operator, comprising $140 million of additional senior debt and $350 million of new junior debt. Brightline plans to keep its $2.2 billion Series 2024 bonds outstanding, while about $2.2 billion of associated-entity bonds, including the $985 million Series 2025B, $925 million AAF Operations Holdings LLC Series 2024 and $285.7 million Series 2024A bonds, will remain outstanding without principal reductions. Brightline reported that year-to-date ridership and revenue through August 2026 rose 14% and 17%, respectively, from the same period in 2025, although both remain below earlier forecasts. Brightline West and entities holding development rights for South Florida commuter service and Tampa are outside the bankruptcy process. The company plans to pursue additional stations, commuter access in South Florida and an Orlando-to-Tampa extension.
