Elon Musk said Colossus 2, the Memphis, Tennessee-based AI data center linked to SpaceXAI and xAI, plans to add as many as 660,000 Nvidia GB300 chips by year-end. The site currently uses 110,000 Nvidia GB200 chips and 440,000 GB300s. Musk said 220,000 additional GB300s are due online next week, another 220,000 are planned for November, and a final 220,000 could arrive in late December if scheduling permits. Completing all three installations would bring the stated inventory to 1.21 million chips from 550,000. The announcement, which included the tickers $SPCX and $NVDA, did not specify the calendar year. Musk has described Colossus as the world's largest AI supercomputer. Colossus 1 was built in 2024 to train xAI's Grok, while the broader infrastructure has expanded to provide computing capacity for outside customers including Anthropic and Alphabet's Google. Musk did not say whether Colossus 2 has sufficient available power and data-center capacity for the additions.
