IBM has introduced a beta connection between Digital Asset Haven and SWIFT's shared ledger for tokenized deposits, enabling participating institutions to use ISO 20022 payment messages to instruct transactions. The ISO 20022 Messaging Adapter maps standard bank instructions to activity on SWIFT's permissioned ledger and works alongside Haven's wallets, key management, transaction signing, policy controls and Hyperledger Besu connectivity. IBM said institutions already participating in SWIFT's program have tested tokenized deposits using Haven. The ledger supports around-the-clock digital-asset transfers, while final settlement continues through established mechanisms, including real-time gross settlement systems. IBM separately began an on-premises beta allowing clients to run Digital Asset Haven and its key-management layer within their own data centers on IBM Z and LinuxONE, without relying on public cloud infrastructure. SWIFT said in July that 17 banks were preparing controlled pilots of live tokenized-deposit transactions.
