Greenland Energy shares rose 10.87% to $5.93 in Friday trading after gaining as much as 60% Thursday, when the company amended its partnership agreement with 80 Mile plc and March GL Company for the Jameson Land venture in East Greenland. The changes extend the initial exploration well deadline from December 31, 2026, to December 31, 2028, and the second well deadline from December 31, 2027, to December 31, 2028. Greenland Energy assumed the rights and obligations previously held by March GL Company and agreed to pay 80 Mile a £500,000 fee within five business days of the amended agreement’s effective date. The company also took exclusive responsibility, including the financial burden, for securing and maintaining drilling permits. CEO Robert Price said the extension provides more time to advance the project while preserving the existing farm-out agreement and completed operational work. Greenland Energy remains an exploration-stage oil and gas company with no oil or gas production revenue to date, making project milestones, permitting and partner arrangements important drivers of its valuation. The company’s shares had also risen about 138% Monday on unusually heavy trading after a security agreement involving the United States and Denmark drew attention to Greenland-related assets.
