Binance will stop supporting Ukrainian hryvnia deposits and withdrawals through Fiat Trade UAH and remove the USDT/UAH spot trading pair at 09:00 UTC+2 on September 28. The exchange will automatically cancel open orders in the affected pair and convert eligible UAH balances into USDT by September 30 at 18:00 UTC+2, using a fixed rate of 1 USDT for 46.5 UAH. The move removes a direct route between Ukraine’s domestic financial system and crypto markets, potentially pushing users toward alternative fiat-to-crypto methods. Binance has millions of users in Ukraine and recently expanded its Ukrainian communication channels through WhatsApp. The decision comes as Binance faces regulatory pressure in Europe after the European Union’s MiCA framework took effect on July 1 and amid a U.S. investigation into potential Iran-linked trading. Binance previously agreed to plead guilty and pay $4.3 billion over U.S. money-laundering, sanctions and money-transmission violations; former CEO Changpeng Zhao received a four-month prison sentence and a $50 million fine before Donald Trump later granted him a presidential pardon.
