Changpeng Zhao said on the When Shift Happens podcast that his social media posts lack enough influence to move the broader cryptocurrency market. The Binance founder said he has maintained a bullish view on Bitcoin and posts five to 10 times daily, making any message published before positive market news potentially coincidental. He reiterated that he had no advance knowledge of Trump's crypto summit speech and rejected speculation that his August 19 post triggered a 20% Bitcoin rally. Zhao said crypto penetration remains under 1% worldwide, leaving room for adoption. He also said retail investors can compete with projects that pay market makers, KOLs (key opinion leaders), launchpads and exchanges for promotion, while warning that hype and deliberate ambiguity can obscure the difference between legitimate marketing and deception. He called for responsible founders, better user education and disclosure rules modeled on traditional stock markets, arguing that unsustainable projects eventually lose out to sustainably built platforms.
