DTCC, the central U.S. institution responsible for securities clearing and settlement, said on the 25th that it will soon launch a blockchain-based tokenization service for $114 trillion in assets handled across its infrastructure. CEO Frank La Salla disclosed the plan, which extends blockchain-based asset representation into core post-trade systems rather than limiting it to startup-led experiments. The assets cited include Russell 1000 stocks and U.S. Treasuries, while NYSE is also planning similar infrastructure.
