Litecoin surged more than 16% in its latest session to an eight-month high near $75, breaking above the $60-$62 resistance zone and exceeding the range that contained prices for most of the year. Trading volume was the strongest of 2026, while U.S. spot Litecoin ETF holdings reached a record 175,000 LTC after roughly 39,000 LTC was added to Canary Capital’s LTCC vehicle, worth $2.8 million over recent sessions. Futures open interest climbed to about $670 million, near the $690 million annual peak recorded in January 2026, with roughly $140 million added in 48 hours and $270 million over a week. LTC-denominated metrics rose 25% in seven days, indicating that traders were adding synthetic positions rather than merely benefiting from higher collateral values. Litecoin previously fell from $80 to about $53 after reaching its January open-interest peak. The rally cleared the 50% and 61.8% Fibonacci retracement levels at $62.09 and $67.47 and is testing $75-$76, where a sustained daily close could put $80 and then $84-$85 in focus. Support lies first around $67-$70, followed by $60-$62, while a move below $56.70 would weaken the bullish structure and could expose the $50-$54 range. RSI reached 81, an overbought reading without immediate bearish divergence. LitVM is also developing an EVM-compatible rollup secured by Litecoin, using Litecoin-based settlement and zero-knowledge technology; its LiteForge testnet is live and targets DeFi, tokenized assets and other Web3 applications. The expanding leverage leaves the breakout vulnerable to sharp liquidations if momentum fades.
