With Samsung Electronics' third-quarter earnings release about three weeks away, domestic brokerages have set sharply different target prices, ranging from 270,000 won to 650,000 won. FnGuide said the three-month average target was 493,864 won as of the 26th, implying about 73% upside from the stock's 285,500-won regular-session close on the 23rd, the last trading day before the Chuseok holiday. Korea Investment & Securities has the highest target at 650,000 won, while Yuanta Securities Korea recently raised its target to 630,000 won, citing memory-chip supply bottlenecks that could persist through 2028. In contrast, BNK Investment & Securities cut its target to 270,000 won and downgraded the stock to hold, arguing that memory supply-demand conditions are deteriorating and earnings will decline from next year. Kiwoom Securities kept its target at 350,000 won and recommended buying with a medium- to long-term horizon, while warning that Chinese producers could pressure general-purpose memory prices. The differing views center on the durability of artificial-intelligence-related memory demand, high-bandwidth memory capacity constraints, foundry profitability and the risk of future oversupply.
