Cardano Foundation and Fireblocks plan to bring Cardano Native Tokens, or CNTs, onto Fireblocks’ institutional custody platform by March 2027. The integration would make tokens issued directly on Cardano standard assets alongside ADA, allowing the platform’s thousands of banks, exchanges, payment firms and fintechs to custody, send and receive them using existing security and policy controls. It will cover CIP-26, the Cardano Token Registry, and CIP-68, an onchain metadata framework. Fireblocks says it secures more than $16 trillion in digital asset transactions and has supported ADA since 2021, although CNTs have required manual handling. The announcement is a technical roadmap rather than an immediate deployment and does not report new token issuance or institutional ADA purchases. The organizations also plan to scope further DeFi (decentralized finance) and ecosystem integrations during 2027. The move forms part of Cardano Foundation’s institutional expansion, which includes a blockchain lab at the University of Brasília and support for a capital-markets blockchain risk framework aimed at traditional finance.
