Backpack CEO Armani Ferrante said the company’s next target is expanding tokenized stock access on Solana from about 200 symbols to 10,000. The plan centers on a single API that would let eligible brokerage holdings move into decentralized finance applications and back. Backpack already allows eligible users to convert certain brokerage holdings into Solana tokens and redeem supported tokens for corresponding securities. Its product descriptions distinguish traditional brokerage rights, including cash dividends and corporate actions, from tokenized forms, where dividends may be reinvested and corporate actions reflected through token balances. The Securities and Exchange Commission’s Sept. 17 conditional relief for certain venues covers tokenized National Market System stocks only when specified conditions are met; the announcement did not identify Backpack as a participating venue.
