XRP rose 7.7% on Sept. 18, moving from about $1.30 to $1.40 and briefly touching roughly $1.41, as the Securities and Exchange Commission received fresh paperwork from Bitwise. The filing was not an application or approval for Bitwise's first XRP ETF, but Post-Effective Amendment No. 2 for its existing Bitwise XRP ETF. The SEC described it as a preliminary prospectus dated Sept. 18 and said the information remained subject to completion. Historical market data show XRP opened near $1.296, reached about $1.413 intraday and closed near $1.396, for an approximately 7.69% daily gain. The fund is an exchange-traded product listed on NYSE Arca under ticker XRP and is designed to provide exposure to XRP held by the trust. Accounting consent in the filing references financial statements beginning Nov. 19, 2025, when the fund commenced operations, indicating it was already operating before the amendment. XRP's move also came during a broader recovery: the token had closed near $1.28 three days earlier after falling from approximately $1.42, then reached roughly $1.53 on Sept. 21. U.S. XRP products had accumulated around $1.7 billion in historical net inflows by Sept. 17, despite XRP remaining well below its all-time high. Coinpaper has highlighted similar confusion involving regulatory filings, including a Volatility Shares filing that changed the effective date of a planned 3x XRP fund without confirming a trading launch and ProShares XRP paperwork that illustrated how routine disclosures can be mistaken for new approvals.
