Riot Platforms voluntarily repaid Coinbase Credit all outstanding principal and accrued interest on Sept. 21, terminating its fully drawn $200 million credit facility without early-termination fees or penalties. The Bitcoin-backed loan carried a fixed annual interest rate of 6.15% and had a revised maturity date of April 20, 2027. As of June 30, Riot had pledged 5,821 BTC worth about $340.7 million as collateral, representing roughly 51% of its Bitcoin holdings. The repayment released Coinbase's security interests in the pledged assets. Riot initially obtained a $100 million loan in April 2025 and increased the facility to $200 million the following month. The company is continuing to expand its data-center operations under a 20-year agreement signed in August to provide 191 megawatts of computing capacity to an AI developer at its Rockdale campus, with projected revenue of $9.1 billion over the term.
