Italian luxury group Armani is preparing to discuss the sale of a 15% stake mandated by founder Giorgio Armani’s will after the first anniversary of his death on Sept. 4, 2025, at age 91. The will gives preference to LVMH, L’Oréal and EssilorLuxottica as potential buyers within 18 months of his death. Chief Executive Giuseppe Marsocci said there were no favored candidates and that the stake could potentially be divided among all three, although he did not confirm whether talks had begun. The company is also assessing Dario Vitale’s role after appointing him head of accessories at Giorgio Armani and creative director of Emporio Armani. At the latest Milan runway show, Silvana Armani presented the Evolution womenswear collection, blending tailored daywear and evening looks with metallic accents, fluid trousers, long dresses and rigid bodices. The collection incorporated cotton, a textile she said Giorgio Armani disliked, while recalling him through a recreation of his childhood Communion suit and a jacket bearing his image. The Milan shows also featured Louise Trotter’s latest Bottega Veneta collection, which paired lighter silhouettes and materials with elaborate craft techniques and oversized raffia intrecciato bags.
