President Donald Trump is hosting a group of technology billionaires for lunch Tuesday, bringing together prominent figures including Meta chief Mark Zuckerberg, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei as debate over artificial intelligence safety intensifies. Elon Musk may not attend, while OpenAI CEO Sam Altman is scheduled to be in San Francisco for the company’s DevDay conference. Zuckerberg’s estimated fortune is $245.5 billion, Huang’s is $198.1 billion and Brockman’s is $25.5 billion; Musk’s is estimated at $906.7 billion. The lunch follows a private dinner between Trump and Amodei on Sunday. Amodei has warned technology leaders to slow the pace of frontier AI development, citing potential risks including bioterrorism, cyberattacks and a greater than 10% chance that AI could kill all humans within the next decade, based on an estimate by an Anthropic alignment lead. Trump has instead increased his support for rapid AI development and more U.S. data centers, while OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Musk have echoed calls for greater restraint. The meetings come as lawmakers, including John Thune, Amy Klobuchar and Ted Cruz, continue debating AI safety legislation.
