Meta’s Muse, an agent AI (software that performs tasks autonomously), reached 3 million downloads within two weeks of its Aug. 8 release, surpassing OpenAI’s ChatGPT in the U.S. Apple App Store. Its success has revived expectations that AI growth will expand beyond graphics processing units (GPUs) to central processing units (CPUs), which coordinate workloads in repeated, multi-step agent processes. Korean substrate stocks led the market response, with Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Daeduck Electronics, Isu Petasys, Korea Circuit and Simmtech posting sharp gains between Aug. 18 and Aug. 23. Analysts also point to potential demand for server memory, storage and networking equipment, while Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix have seen divergent stock performance despite their positions in the DRAM market.
