Singapore’s manufacturing production rose 15.4% year-on-year in August 2026, accelerating from a downwardly revised 6.8% increase in July. Sustained artificial-intelligence-related demand lifted precision engineering output 33.9%, driven by semiconductor equipment production, while electronics output climbed 28.5% on stronger production of servers, related products, semiconductors and data storage products. Transport engineering increased 9.5% and biomedical manufacturing edged up 0.4%. Chemicals output fell 12.7% because of declines in petroleum and petrochemicals. On a monthly basis, production slipped 0.5%, reversing July’s 2.3% gain.
