Pi Network has moved into Protocol 28 preparations after completing Protocol 27 on Mainnet, with the next upgrade scheduled for Oct. 16, 2026. Mainnet node operators must install the required software by Oct. 13, while Protocol 28 testing has already advanced on Testnet. The Core Team says the upgrade will improve the handling of delays involving transaction data, allow developers to upgrade groups of smart contracts (self-executing blockchain code) together and make stored-data changes safer for applications. PI was trading near $0.0893, down about 2% over 24 hours but up roughly 2.3% over seven days, keeping it below the closely watched $0.10 resistance level. CoinGecko valued Pi Network at slightly more than $1 billion, with about $6.4 million in 24-hour trading volume and 11.24 billion PI circulating. Momentum indicators remained subdued, with RSI at 47.99 and the Aroon Oscillator at -14.29. PI’s recent seven-day range was approximately $0.085 to $0.0945, while its current 24-hour range was about $0.0888 to $0.0920. The token remains roughly 97% below its $2.99 all-time high. Pi Network is also continuing KYC and Mainnet migration work, including efforts involving more than 417,000 users cleared to resume verification and about 497,000 Fast-Track wallets affected by missing gas funds.
