D3, the core contributor to Doma Protocol, launched Frontier at Korea Blockchain Week on September 28, allowing users to deposit eligible assets with vault providers on Solana and Hyperliquid and earn Frontier Points. Members can commit those points to names offered by participating registries before general registration, but priority does not confer ownership or guarantee a domain. Loopscale supports the Solana vault, while Hyperion DeFi and Upshift support the Hyperliquid vault, with additional chains planned. ICANN said 1,616 of 1,663 applications submitted for its 2026 new generic top-level domain round had met the payment requirement to proceed. Reveal Day will publish the public portions of qualifying applications, after which applications face evaluation, objections and possible contention resolution. D3 says more than 20 applicants and registries have committed to Frontier, while each registry will set its own timing, pricing and eligibility rules. Potential extensions mentioned by D3 or participating executives include .agent, .wallet, .sol, .robot and .hype, although ICANN’s publication will be the verified record of applications.
