Bitget resumed Bitcoin withdrawals on the Bitcoin network and BNB Smart Chain after a Sept. 24 breach involving approximately $387.5 million in assets. CEO Gracy Chen said the exchange had processed 9,585 withdrawal orders totaling 4,098.036 BTC by 17:00 UTC+8 Monday, following the scheduled 08:00 UTC restart. NEAR Protocol said its NEAR Intents service, using the SHIELD risk-intelligence layer, detected more than $50 million in suspected laundering attempts connected to the stolen funds, freezing $503,000 while $166,000 passed through. NEAR co-founder Alex Shevchenko said NEAR Intents waived its share of any recovery bounty. Bitget said attackers exploited third-party product vulnerabilities to obtain internal credentials and issue fraudulent withdrawal commands, while private keys and cold wallets remained unaffected. The exchange said customer balances were unaffected and its Protection Fund would cover the financial impact.
