Anthropic's reported IPO prospectus highlights existential risks from advanced artificial intelligence alongside rapid growth, major losses and extensive infrastructure commitments as the Claude developer advances toward a possible public listing. The company has been reported to be targeting a valuation of about $2 trillion, but it has not publicly announced whether any shares would be reserved for retail investors. Rebecca Kacaba, CEO of capital-markets platform DealMaker, said Anthropic and lead underwriters Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs will determine any retail allocation. SpaceX reportedly reserved up to 30% of its IPO for retail investors, while DealMaker's survey of 2,000 U.S. adults found that 67% want everyday investors to benefit from AI growth and 63% worry that trillion-dollar IPOs leave retail buyers entering at inflated valuations. Anthropic's potential listing remains subject to unsettled timing, pricing, offering size, share count and regulatory review. Retail investors can seek private exposure through special-purpose vehicles and secondary transactions, although Kacaba warned that fees, liquidation preferences and transfer restrictions can reduce or invalidate those positions.
