Seongnam selected five districts totaling 13,429 housing units as candidates for special redevelopment zones in Bundang, an aging first-generation planned city. The total exceeds the originally planned 12,000 units by 1,429. The selected districts are Imaechon 1 with 1,734 units, Sibeom Complex 1 with 4,200, Park Town with 3,025, Pureun Village with 2,598 and Hansol Village 2 with 1,872. Seongnam plans to complete consultations, reviews and committee deliberations before designating and announcing the zones by December. Separately, its 2027-2030 plan calls for 25,000 units to be selected, including 10,000 in 2027 and 15,000 preselected from 2028 through 2030 as preliminary special redevelopment zones.
