CoinMarketCap has appointed Chief Product Officer David Salamon as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. He succeeds Rush, who is moving to build out the group’s new business lines after five years leading the company. Salamon joined CoinMarketCap in 2022 and led CMC AI from launch to more than 10 million users, rebuilt its on-chain data infrastructure with DexScan tracking 107 chains, and modernized the data platform. That platform delivers crypto data through an API (software connecting systems) to tens of thousands of developers and enterprise customers worldwide, generating 33 million daily calls. Rush said Salamon has his full confidence, while Salamon said CoinMarketCap would focus on building a complete, reliable and usable information and intelligence layer for crypto and making it broadly accessible.
