Chainlink launched CCIP 2.0 and a Chainlink Runtime Environment solution connecting financial institutions to Swift’s blockchain-based shared ledger, supporting tokenized assets, deposits and payment obligations across public and private networks. CCIP 2.0 lets issuers add independent Cross-Chain Verifiers, apply compliance controls and set settlement-confirmation thresholds, while banks using CRE retain their cryptographic keys and existing settlement systems. Chainlink said CCIP protects more than $84 billion in cross-chain token value, recorded $4.9 billion in cross-chain volume in the second quarter of 2026, and processed more than $15 billion in tokenized assets during the previous four months.
