Stellar reached a record 217.4 transactions per second on September 26 across a 100-block window, according to Chainspect, surpassing its previous peak of approximately 211 TPS in less than two weeks. The increase reflected live network activity rather than an artificial stress test, with institutional use of tokenized real-world assets and stablecoin payments contributing to demand. Protocol 28, also known as Adapter, activated in mid-September and allowed validators to begin voting before receiving an entire transaction batch, while a Soroban update improved processing of large data sets. Stellar ranked fourth globally by tokenized RWA value at $3.38 billion as of September 27, supported by only 72 active projects and large holdings including the Spiko Amundi Overnight Swap Fund, Ondo U.S. Dollar Yield and Franklin Templeton's BENJI bonds. The network typically processes 120–180 TPS, charges fixed fees of $0.0001 and reaches finality in about five seconds, although its latest peak remains below Solana and Aptos records.
