BNB Chain has appointed Thomas Chen as chief business officer, a newly created role focused on revenue strategy, institutional partnerships and long-term ecosystem value accumulation. His responsibilities span institutional and capital markets, stablecoins and settlement, trading and liquidity, and ecosystem and distribution. Chen will target banks, asset managers, custodians, stablecoin issuers, real-world asset platforms, market makers, exchanges and other infrastructure providers. The appointment comes as traditional financial firms expand beyond blockchain pilots into tokenized deposits, money market funds, 24/7 settlement and public-blockchain liquidity. Stablecoins settled $7.2 trillion in February 2026, exceeding the U.S. ACH network for the first time. BNB Chain says it is the second-largest blockchain for real-world asset tokenization, with more than $5.6 billion in total value locked, and leads networks with 15 million monthly active stablecoin addresses. Chen brings more than seven years of digital asset infrastructure experience and previously served as CEO of Function and Managing Director and Global Head of Sales at BitGo.
