IonQ has gained 16% over the past month after Bank of America initiated coverage with a Buy rating and a $60 price target, identifying it as the largest publicly traded pure-play quantum company by revenue. The bank said recent acquisitions, including SkyWater Technology and Seed Innovations, could accelerate IonQ’s roadmap by giving it greater control over chip development, manufacturing and complex quantum workloads. IonQ’s shares have gained 1.3% in 2026, compared with a 13% rise in the S&P 500. BofA expects sales to grow at a 69% compound annual rate from fiscal 2026 through fiscal 2030, but cautioned that the stock reflects growth that has yet to be realized. IonQ is targeting a second-quarter 2027 launch for Superion 256, its first system to integrate electronic qubit control, while commercial quantum adoption remains at an early stage.
