The Green Bay Packers are signing offensive lineman Mekhi Becton after a Monday workout, ESPN reported. The 27-year-old former first-round pick will join the Packers’ practice squad as Green Bay, which is 1-2, prepares for Sunday’s game at Tampa Bay. The Los Angeles Chargers released Becton in March to create nearly $10 million in salary-cap space. He played 15 games, including 14 starts, for the Chargers in 2025. Selected 11th overall by the New York Jets in the 2020 NFL Draft, Becton has started 59 of 61 career games for the Jets, Philadelphia Eagles and Chargers. He won a Super Bowl during his lone season with Philadelphia and has played primarily left tackle and right guard.
