He said all his art is recorded on the blockchain, accepts Bitcoin for artwork and supplies blockchain-based certificates of authenticity. Biden argued that blockchains can support cross-border transactions without relying on a dominant bank, while acknowledging misconduct across the crypto sector and rejecting claims that Bitcoin is destined to fall to zero. He also discussed crypto regulation, lobbying his father, Bitcoin payments, Michael Saylor and Strategy, fiat currency, Silk Road and the sector’s political realignment. Biden said his LAPTOP memecoin dropped more than 98% within minutes of launch after plans to list it on a centralized exchange changed to a decentralized-exchange launch. He blamed the crash on a market maker’s failure to provide expected liquidity. The token had also fallen more than 99% from its peak amid allegations of a pump-and-dump. Biden described the launch as horrible, said there would be a full accounting and reaffirmed his commitment to the token.
