UK Chancellor of the Exchequer John Healey compared Reform Party leader Nigel Farage’s fiscal policies with former Prime Minister Liz Truss handling a Bitcoin account during Labour’s 2026 party conference. The comparison invoked the financial-market turmoil associated with Truss’s policies and her resignation after 44 days following a rebellion by several Conservative MPs. Healey also said Labour would pursue fiscal discipline, strong industries and employment. Farage, a pro-crypto member of parliament, has faced scrutiny over millions of dollars in crypto donations from Christopher Harborne and Ben Delo. The Metropolitan Police is investigating reports that Reform breached rules on overseas donations, while the party denies wrongdoing and says it will cooperate. Farage has promoted Bitcoin as a matter of personal freedom, said he was debanked by Coutts, and has proposed lower crypto capital gains taxes and a Bitcoin reserve for the Bank of England.
