ARK Invest CEO Cathie Wood said advances in artificial intelligence and quantum computing (advanced computation using quantum mechanics) have changed her view of Bitcoin attributed to Satoshi Nakamoto. On ARK Invest’s FYI podcast, participants examined how quantum computers could threaten Bitcoin’s cryptographic systems and how AI could help defend the network. AI is accelerating quantum research, while Bitcoin developers are using the technology to improve security. A developer said AI-powered security findings are being reviewed by Bitcoin Core developers, with some fixes already implemented directly into Bitcoin Core. Any future movement of Satoshi-linked BTC could reflect an owner relocating coins, adopting more secure signature systems against quantum threats, or attackers accessing private keys. Such movements could weigh on the market in the short term, although new signature schemes and other protocol solutions are being tested for a future transition to quantum-resistant systems. Prediction-market investors price only about a 3% chance that the coins will move before the end of 2026.
